Profane Existence will be releasing

The Cooters third album and our next compact disc will be released in April by Profane Existence Records (www.ProfaneExistence.com). The album is called Punk Metal and we are especially proud that Profane Existence is backing its release. Recorded between 2001 and 2004 by Tom Queyja in Oxford, Mississippi, this record includes the definitive versions of many of The Cooters staple songs such as "The Gooch," "Crusty," "Carpetbaggers," "Life Like," "The Redneck Slut From Hell," "Society Sets The Stereotype," "Wheels in Motion," "Kill Them With Kindness," "Okolona" and "Woo Lord!". And yes, the award-winning video for "The Gooch" shot and directed by Matt Gillentine is also included on the CD! We will have more info available in the coming weeks when we announce the official release date. We are stoked that our music is being released by such a cool punk/metal label!

Double Decker Festival April 30, 2005

The Cooters are very happy to announce that we will be playing live on the official stage of the 2005 Double Decker Festival (www.DoubleDeckerFestival.com) on April 30th in Oxford, Mississippi! This has been a long time coming and as many of you know, for the last two years The Cooters have played on the sidewalk in front of the Two Stick on our own makeshift stage. Your support for the Cooters to officially play the Double Decker was overwhelming and did not go unnoticed by the festival organizers. The Cooters cannot thank you enough, each and every one of you for your support and encouragement! Make your plans to attend now because even though there will be 30,000 plus people there, we are playing for you, The Cooters supporters and this could be the only time you'll ever see a punk or metal band play on this festival. Hell, its even FREE!
