There IS an easy way to say what's going on... The Cooters are back! In addition to redesiging TheCooters.com, the band has spent considerable time working with Tom Queyja on the new album, but summer is over and now is the time to get off your ass and come shake it with The Cooters! New tour dates have been posted and more shows are in the works. And, yes, Judas Cooter is off of house arrest!

It's been turned off since April 12, 2001, when a suburban New York mall punk band launched a hate campaign against The Cooters. They posted lies about us on their website but more importantly, they came to our website and trashed it over and over and over again. We felt we had to turn off the public posting function of the Cooters Guestbook. We continued to receive hate e-mail from the band, their controversial "punk" record label and some of their associates. Despite the fact that the e-venom hasn't ended, we have decided to launch a new Cooters Message Board anyway. Will the controversy ever end?

The Cooters mixed down live material for possible release.
5.26.2001 2:25 pm
The Cooters have mixed several songs recorded by Tom Queyja on February 21, 2000 at Proud Larry's in Oxford, Mississippi. We mixed a cool version of Motorhead's "Ace of Spades," plus the hardcore punk anti-police state anthem, "Crusty," and the Cooters outrageous jazzcore tune, "Cosmo Demonic." "Crusty" has now been added to our MP3.com download page for a limited time. Go here to download it before it goes offline!

The Cooters MP3"Get the Gun!" hits at number one
on MP3.com's "Sightings"chart
5.26.2001 2:12 pm
"Get the Gun" is the Cooters classic intro from our "Invasion of The Cooters" compact disc. And it isn't a song at all. Rather, "Get the Gun" is the real recording made in 1995 at the Cooters Farm of an unidentified flying object that streaked across the sky and crashed near our farm. This Cooters MP3 has been one of the most popular downloads off our MP3.com page, crossing genres to delight all kinds of outer space fans. "Get the Gun" made it as high as number 2 on the "Storytelling" genre last summer, but was moved into MP3.com's recently created "Sightings" category at the end of April 2001. Get your own copy of this cool mp3 by going here.
