The Cooters recently took over the famous Memphis studios, Ardent Records, for six days of intense recording mayhem with Nashville producer Rick Clark. Six new tunes were recorded, including some crazy Cooter standards: "Punch Yer Neighbor," "Dare To Defy," "Soulfood," "Waffle House Rock," "The Cooters Theme Song," and the ten minute triology, "Purge."
Rick has worked in the past with the bands Joe, Marc's Brother and the Shines. He was also the producer of The Oxford American magazine's "Southern Music Sampler" (both volume one and two). Rick became aquainted with The Cooters back in January of 1997, soon after the release of the "Invasion of The Cooters" CD. They hit it off with a love of raw rock-n-roll, especially Motorhead. Rick was christened "Pop Cooter" by The Cooter Council.

Of the sessions, The Supreme Cooter decreed:
"I gave these farm boys the tools of the gods and taught them the secrets of musical mind control! Soon the entire planet will be hynotized to the sounds of The Cooters!!!"

Of the sessions, bassist Neuter Cooter says:
"Recording at Ardent was a really great. We were using one of Memphis's finest studios, and the room that was used to record bands like Led Zeppelin, Stevie Ray Vaughn and ZZ Top. Rick has taken the band to a new level. I've learned so much from him, as I think we all have. We will always be grateful for this experience." |

Raw Cooter adds:
"There was no mercy at these sessions, Rick was under the spell of The Supreme Cooter to whip us into game shape. These songs kick fucking ass!"

Judas Cooter was amazed:
"This is the best sound we've ever captured on tape. Hey! They recorded the Breakin' soundtrack here, too!"

Upon hearing the recordings, Darth Vader conceeded:
"Impressive... most impressive!"
